Talent Acquisition Team Development

Talent Acquisition sits inside People & Culture. It carries the hiring targets and the roles that never stop coming — and it's often to one side of the function, rarely in the room when its direction is set.

Many TA teams are capable people stuck in process mode: moving requisitions, chasing hiring managers, reporting time-to-fill. The business needs them to consult — to challenge a brief, read the market, and be trusted in the hiring decision.

Building that capability is one of the clearest ways to improve organisational performance.

What changes

  • The team has standing. Hiring managers treat them as advisers, not order-takers.

  • The team shares one language for how they consult, challenge and advise.

  • The team can measure the quality of a hire, not just the speed of it — so they can show what good hiring is worth, and what a failed hire costs.

From Process to Partner — the programme

A cohort programme that builds consulting and Talent Partner skills in in-house TA teams.

  • Who: mixed TA teams, including TA leads

  • Length: 12 weeks, fortnightly

  • Delivery: hybrid — in person to open and close, virtual in between

  • What it covers: the consulting craft, and quality-of-hire measurement

  • Your P&C leadership stays close: a sponsor or HRBP touchpoint is built in, so the change holds after the programme ends

  • Two ways to run it: in-house for one team, or an open cohort with TA professionals from other organisations

Also available

The Hiring Manager Session — run separately, for the managers your TA team partners with.

When were your managers last trained to interview well? The tried-and-tested ways of hiring have grown tired, and they do little for candidate engagement or your employer brand. Your TA team can only partner as well as the managers across the table from them. When you need an outside voice to retrain your managers, call me

Why it works

I've spent thirty years in talent acquisition, and I've built capability programmes with in-house TA teams before. This programme is built from what I've seen work and fail.
